During your first therapy appointment, you can expect to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, share relevant personal history, and begin to establish goals for treatment. I will ask questions to get to know you better and ensure they understand your concerns. It's a time to get to know you and start working towards your well-being goals.

The duration of therapy varies for each individual and depends on factors such as your goals, progress, and personal circumstances. Some people benefit from short-term therapy (a few sessions), while others may need longer-term support. My goal is to equip you with the tools to manage on your own, not to keep you in therapy longer than necessary. We will work together to determine the best timeline for your needs.

You may have out-of-network benefits, which means that insurance will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost. I have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. With Thrizer, you will only have to pay your co-insurance for our sessions, instead of paying my full fee and waiting for reimbursements. This can save you on average 70% upfront on our sessions. During our consultation call, I can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and connect you with Thrizer to verify your benefits.

Enhanced Privacy and Confidentiality
Opting for self-pay therapy ensures that your sessions are strictly confidential, solely between you and your therapist. There's no need for a mental health diagnosis to justify treatment, providing you with full privacy protection.
Reduced Paperwork
Self-pay therapy significantly reduces the amount of paperwork involved. This means fewer documents that could be requested during legal proceedings or by long-term insurance companies, streamlining the entire process.
Personalized Pace
With self-pay therapy, you have the freedom to progress at your own pace. Your therapy journey is tailored to your needs, without the constraints of insurance requirements determining whether your treatment is medically necessary.
No Impact on Life Insurance
By avoiding the need for a formal mental health diagnosis, self-pay therapy helps you steer clear of potential negative impacts on life insurance policies that could arise from such diagnoses.
Choosing self-pay therapy empowers you with greater control over your mental health journey, ensuring enhanced privacy, reduced the hassle of dealing with your insurance, personalized care, and no adverse effects on your life insurance.
